The Spanish club acquired defender Gabriel Rodrigues dos Santos from Brazil's "Fluminense", the Spanish club announced on Friday. According to the statement, the 24-year-old defender, who has represented the Brazilian national team once, signed a three and a half year contract with the club and will begin training with his teammates on January 3rd. The transfer fee was not disclosed. Gabriel, who can play in the defensive line, moved to "Fluminense" in January 2005 from "Sao Paulo". In the Malaga team, he will join another Brazilian, Bovio, who will arrive after New Year. Bovio will join "Malaga" as a free agent from "Santos". In the Spanish championship, "Malaga" currently holds the fifteenth place out of twenty teams.
