For the fourth time in a row, the magazine "France Football" has named London forward Thierry Henry as the best French footballer of the year.
Having previously won this title in 2000, 2003, and 2004, the Frenchman became the first player to win the title four times. Before him, Alain Giresse had also won three titles (1982, 1986, and 1987).
This year, in the voting, T. Henry outscored the goalkeeper of "Lyon." The third place in the voting was taken by the defender Claude Makelele from London "Chelsea." Following them were Zinedine Zidane ("Real"), Willy Sagnol ("Bayern"), David Trezeguet ("Juventus"), Lilian Thuram ("Juventus"), Sylvain Wiltord ("Lyon"), William Gallas ("Chelsea"), and Ludovic Giuly ("Barcelona").
