Costa Rica national team defender Christian Bolaños will try to establish himself in the lineup of European champions in January, BBC reported on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old right-back currently represents the Costa Rican team "Deportivo Saprissa" and it is almost certain that he will participate in the World Cup in Germany next year.

His current coach, Jeustin Campos, told journalists that the defender impressed "Liverpool" coach Rafael Benitez during the recent FIFA Club World Cup held in Japan.

In the semi-finals of this tournament, "Liverpool" crushed the Costa Rican team 3-0, but C. Bolaños was perhaps the only one to stand out from his teammates.

According to unofficial sources, if the player manages to establish himself in the English team during the trial period, the Costa Rican club would receive about 500 thousand pounds sterling for the transfer.
