On Wednesday evening, the Lithuanian national team of clubs, which included several players playing in foreign clubs, participated in traditional friendly matches against regional teams from Spain and played a 1-1 draw with the Murcia regional team.

The Lithuanians fell behind after 51 minutes due to a goal scored by defender Javi Garcia, but at the end of the match the result was equalized by forward Povilas Lukšys who came on as a substitute for Panevėžys "Ekranas."

According to the Spanish sports newspaper "Marca," the Murcia team, led by the famous Spanish coach Jose Antonio Camacho, who had previously coached the national team and Real Madrid, was superior to the Lithuanians in all matches.

At the beginning of the match, "Valencia" and Spanish striker Mista had two good chances to take the lead, while Javi Garcia and Toche failed to capitalize on good opportunities before the end of the first half. The only real chance for the Lithuanians in the first half was a late attempt by Tomas Radzinevičius to beat the opponent's goalkeeper Juanmi, but the shot was blocked.

In the second half, a penalty was awarded to the Lithuanian goal after Andrius Gedgaudas fouled Kike Mateo, but Mindaugas Malinauskas managed to save the penalty. However, Javi Garcia was the first to react to the rebound and put the hosts ahead. In the second half, the Spaniards had several great opportunities to double or even triple the lead, but the "Žalgiris" goalkeeper M. Malinauskas kept the goal safe.

At the very end of the match, in the 85th minute, Povilas Lukšys, who came on as a substitute, spoiled the hosts' celebrations by being the first to react to the ball in the penalty area and sending it into the net.

The match was watched by 7,000 spectators.
