England's national team and striker Michael Owen will have to undergo surgery on his right foot after suffering an injury during a match against Tottenham on Saturday.
"I was recommended a good surgeon and I will be operated on by him in the near future - a screw will be inserted into my foot," Owen told "The Times." "It's not necessary, but I was told that this gives me the best chance of recovering as quickly as possible."
After this operation, England's striker will have to not play for at least 8-10 weeks.
"There's no need for any miracles for me to still play this season," the striker said optimistically. "I will play at least a month in the English championship and the World Cup."
Many England national team players have previously suffered similar injuries: David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Gary Neville, Ashley Cole.
"The experience of teammates from such a powerful team makes me think that I will recover in two to three months," the Englishman did not lack optimism.
