Brėmen and German national team striker Miroslav Klose was voted as the best player on the Bundesliga field in the first half of the season according to a survey initiated by the football magazine "Kicker" released on Monday.
The Brėmen team striker scored sixteen goals in the first eighteen matches and received 38.3 percent of the votes from 249 competing players. Second place went to midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, who received 22.5 percent of the votes. Third place went to Klose's teammate Tim Borowski, who received 13 percent.
In the best goalkeeper category, team player Robert Enke emerged victorious. In May, he was voted as the best goalkeeper of the 2004/2005 season in this magazine's survey. Second place in this week's survey went to goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.
