The first round of the King's Cup (Copa del Rey) match between Madrid's "Atletico" and "Zaragoza" was postponed on Wednesday after 14 players from the Spanish capital's team fell ill with acute gastroenteritis.

"Both clubs agreed to postpone the match," said a representative of the Spanish Football Federation at a press conference. "Now we need to agree on a date for when this match will be played."

It was reported that players started vomiting and suffered from stomach pain and diarrhea after lunchtime training camp. The club's medical staff suggested that this could have only been caused by food poisoning or a viral infection.

"Atletico" representatives stated that they did not know if those 14 players would be able to play in Sunday's Spanish championship duel with "Valencia."
