Football - the most unpredictable sport in the world © EuroFootball.com

This is confirmed by research. Football over the past hundred years has been the most unpredictable and at the same time the most interesting sport in the world, but it is rapidly being overtaken by baseball. A group of scientists from the USA analyzed a multitude of results from various sports branches to determine which sport has the most unexpected outcomes. "If there are no surprises, every match becomes predictable, therefore boring," the leader of the group of scientists told the magazine "New Scientist." Scientists analyzed results from ice hockey, American football, basketball, baseball, and the English Premier League matches over the past three hundred thousand of the last century. It turned out that football ranked first in terms of the frequency of unexpected results, followed by baseball, ice hockey, basketball, and American football. However, scientists also announced a fact that should worry football fans - analyzing only the results of the last decade, baseball and football have switched places. This allows us to assume that football has become more predictable in recent decades.
