On Friday, January 6, at Vilnius "Sportima" arena, a friendly match will be played between the bronze medalists of the National Football Clubs Association (NFKA) "A League" from last year, Marijampolė's "Sūduva," and the vice-champions FBK "Kaunas."

Earlier, "Kaunas" defeated Klaipėda's "Atlantas" 2-1 in a friendly match in Vilnius. Both goals for the vice-champions were scored by Gvidas Juška, who played for "Šilutė" last season. Klaipėda's team was marked by Rimantas Žvingilas, who equalized the score in the second half.

The country's champion "Ekranas" is currently resting and will start training on January 9. Before the first training session of the year, a club meeting will be held to clarify the champions' preparation for the new football season, which will start on April 2.

However, it is already known that in January the team will go to a week-long training camp in Palanga and will play two friendly matches. On January 21, at the roofed stadium in Riga, the Panevėžys team will face the "Skonto" eleven, and on January 28, "Ekranas" will go to Liepāja to test their strength against last year's Latvian champions, "Metalurgs," led by Lithuanian coach Benjaminas Zelkevičius.

Furthermore, before the start of the 2006 NFKA "A League" championship, the country's champion "Ekranas" and the Lietuvos Futbolo Federacija (LFF) Cup winner "Kaunas" will play a match for the super cup. It will likely take place in Palanga.
