The vice-champions of Lithuania FBK continue to strengthen before the upcoming season - the Kaunas club has signed contracts with two young Russians: nineteen-year-old striker Ilgiz Fatakhov and soon-to-be twenty-year-old midfielder Maksim Berdnik, the official website of the Kaunas club announced on Thursday.

According to the club's statement, both players will participate in friendly matches between the Kaunas and Marijampolė "Sūduva" clubs in Vilnius on Friday and will seek the right to participate in the "Sandraugos" tournament.

Arkadiusz Klimek, who has been undergoing treatment for a long-term injury in Poland, returned to the Kaunas club camp after the New Year. The striker is still unable to train with the ball but is working on an individual schedule. The Polish player will start training actively only in mid-January and will not travel with his team to the "Sandraugos" tournament in Moscow.

Meanwhile, the two most productive "Kaunas" footballers of the past season, Ričardas Beniušis and Andrius Velička, should travel to Moscow. Both players participated in a trial with the Scottish club "Dunfermline" and will join their team in Lithuania in the near future. Whether any of them will move to Scotland should be decided by the leaders of both clubs in the second half of January.

According to unofficial information, the technical staff of the Scottish club was more impressed by the faster and more technically skilled A. Velička. It is believed that the Lithuanian player could be loaned to the Scottish club until the end of the season in Scotland.
