As expected, French club left-back Patrice Evra will soon join a team that is not going through the best of times.

According to the head coach of the English club, Sir Alex Ferguson, Evra will undergo a medical examination on Monday and will join the "Red Devils" team.

This will be the second purchase by coach Sir Alex Ferguson for "Man Utd" this winter. A few days ago, the team finally agreed on the transfer of Moscow defender Nemanja Vidic for 7 million pounds.

According to the English media, P.Evra will cost Manchester team 4 million pounds. He will take the place of Gabriel Heinze, who is out with a serious injury and has not played this season.

The main competitor in the battle for this defender for "Man Utd" was an Italian club from Milan, however, "Monaco" rejected the Italian offer of 3.7 million pounds, and Evra himself said he wanted to move to England.

"Everything went just perfectly," said "Monaco" vice president Gerard Brianti. "We set favorable conditions for ourselves and "Man Utd" fulfilled them, so I am satisfied with this deal."
