The team from St. Petersburg became the first Russian team to sign a contract with a Korean football player.
Russian club signed a two-year contract with 26-year-old Hyun Young-Min from South Korea, with the possibility to extend it for another year.
The player, who has participated in several matches with the Korean national team, is very versatile and can play in various positions, both as a midfielder and as a defender. Young-Min will join the team this weekend in France, where the "Zenit" training camp is taking place.
Before that, the player played in his own country, at Ulsan Hyundai Horangi FC club. It is said that the "Zenit" team is interested in another player from Ulsan's team, 21-year-old defender Ho Lee. Both of these players are likely to play in this year's World Cup in Germany.
Young-Min became the first player acquired by "Zenit" during the winter transfer window. The team continues to prepare for the UEFA Europa League knockout stage, where they will face a Norwegian team.
