Due to injuries, Vilnius "Vėtra" veterans Aidas Preikšaitis and Vaidas Žutautas will miss the beginning of the preparation season.
Defender Aidas Preikšaitis had a successful knee operation yesterday. A. Preikšaitis received a left knee injury in a match between the Lithuanian national team and Andalusia region national team in Spain. During the operation, the footballer had torn meniscus fragments removed. A. Preikšaitis will be able to start training individually already next week. He will begin training with the team at full strength after 2-3 weeks.
Due to an injury, the new "Vėtra" goalkeeper Vaidas Žutautas cannot prepare for the upcoming season. He underwent shoulder surgery, during which a torn shoulder ligament was repaired. V. Žutautas suffered the injury in September of last year, but he continued to play despite the injury. The goalkeeper's rehabilitation after the injury will last for a couple more months.
