On Wednesday, crushing their opponents with an impressive result in the King's Cup, "Barcelona" won their sixteenth consecutive victory and improved the 45-year-old record of Madrid's "Real".
Spain's champions crushed the third division team "Zamora" 6-0 at home, securing a spot in the King's Cup quarterfinals. The cup holders also securing spots were Seville's "Betis", "Cadiz", Barcelona's "Espanyol", La Coruna's "Deportivo", and "Valencia".
The victory by the narrowest of margins was achieved in Madrid by the players of "Zaragoza", who defeated the local "Atletico". However, this was only the first leg of the teams' match, as the game scheduled for a week earlier was cancelled due to a mass poisoning of "Atletico" players.
The second leg match in Madrid between "Real" and Bilbao "Athletic" will take place on Thursday.
