Round 21: "Bordeaux" once again second © EuroFootball.com

On Wednesday, the games of the 21st round of the French "Ligue 1" championship were played. The match between "Toulouse" and "P.S.G" was postponed and will be played on Thursday evening.

The central game of the round took place in Lyon, where the local team "Lyon", leading the championship firmly, hosted the "Marseille" club. Although the guests took the lead after the 19th minute goal by Sabry Lamouchi, in the second half "Lyon" showed a champion's character and celebrated victory with goals from Tiago and Sidney Govou, with a score of 2-1.

Equally intriguing was the game in Bordeaux, where the local team "Bordeaux" met the "Auxerre" team, which stood in second place before this round. In a very tough game, the home fans celebrated a minimal victory after a scored goal at the very end of the match, with "Bordeaux" winning. Worth mentioning is that after this victory, "Bordeaux" moved up from 6th place to 2nd place, while "Auxerre" dropped one position below.

Once again, the struggling "Monaco" team failed to fully recover. The team, in a match against the absolute underdog of the tournament, "Strasbourg", took the lead after Olivier Kapo's goal in the 73rd minute, but the visitors restored the balance a minute later and maintained that result until the end of the match.

"Monaco"'s stumble was used by the "Saint-Etienne" team, which strengthened this week with the Argentine Ignacio Piatti, climbing from 9th place to 7th place after a minimal victory over another underdog, "Metz", resisting the resistance.

The recently second-placed "Lens" club experienced an unexpected failure. The team lost at home 1-2 to the newcomer "Nancy" and now occupies only the 5th position with 33 points.
