On Friday, the draw of the Spanish Football Federation (LFP) revealed the pairs of the King's Cup (Copa del Rey) quarterfinals.

One of the most interesting matches should be between the teams of La Coruña's "Deportivo" and "Valencia", which have very similar strength. These teams often finish the season in very similar positions and currently occupy third and fourth places in the Spanish championship.

The only match between these teams at Valencia's "La Mestalla" stadium this season ended in a 2-2 draw.

The cup holders, Seville's "Betis", faced a very tough challenge - they will clash with Madrid's "Real" in the quarterfinals. The statistics do not promise anything good for the Seville team - the only match between these clubs this season ended with a 0-2 victory for the Royal club in Seville.

The impressively performing "Barcelona", not only in Spain but also in Europe, will play against the winner of the pair "Zaragoza" and Madrid's "Atletico", which will be determined after the postponed match.

Meanwhile, the draw favored the teams "Cadiz" and Barcelona's "Espanyol" - they will face each other. In case of victory, one of the clubs will take a big step towards a ticket to the UEFA Cup, as few doubt that "Barcelona" or "Real" will not overcome weaker opponents and that "Valencia" and "Deportivo" will not finish in the top six in the Spanish championship.

The first quarterfinal matches will be played on January 18, and the return matches will take place a week later, on January 25.
