On Sunday in the English Premier League, the remaining two matches of the 22nd round were played. The "Chelsea" footballers, who won another victory, further increased their lead over the closest pursuers - now they are aiming for a 13-point lead.

Despite the fact that today's opponents of "Chelsea" were the absolute outsiders of the league, the "Sunderland" footballers, the match for the English champions did not go as easy as expected. In the 12th minute of the match, "Sunderland" unexpectedly scored a goal - after a mistake by the "Chelsea" defenders, Liam Lawrence struck a strong shot from 12 meters and beat Petr Cech.

However, the advantage for the hosts did not last long. After 16 minutes, "Chelsea" took advantage of almost the first opportunity in the match - after a pass from the side, Joe Cole headed the ball to Hernan Crespo, who also sent it into the net from a few meters with his head. However, even after this goal, the students of Jose Mourinho could not find their game and went into the break with a 1-1 draw.

After the break, the picture on the field changed. "Chelsea" took the initiative and in the 69th minute broke through the "Sunderland" defense - Arjen Robben's shot hit a defender in the head and ended up in the goal after a ricochet. Interestingly, after this incident, A.Robben, who jumped into the stands, was immediately sent off the field for the second yellow card.

At the end of the match, "Sunderland" tried to snatch a draw, but all their efforts were in vain and "Chelsea" celebrated their 19th victory this season.

In another Sunday match, "Wigan" lost 1-0 at home to "West Bromwich Albion". The only goal of the match was scored by Martin Albrechtsen in the 56th minute.
