Due to a change in the lineup for the next season in the Champions League, the Italian champion unexpectedly strengthened their squad with Danish national team defender Per Kroldrup - a player who did not fit in the English club will move to the Florence team. The transfer fee has not been disclosed.
The 26-year-old Dane from the "Udinese" club, where he played 91 games in the Italian top league over four years, moved to "Everton" last summer for almost 7 million euros, but injuries plagued him in the new team - in six months the footballer played only one match in the "Premier" league and once appeared on the field in the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, "Fiorentina", despite a recent loss to the "Sampdoria" team, firmly holding the fourth position in the "Serie A" league, has been looking for a central defender for some time. Initially, Serbian Nemanja Vidic agreed to join the team, but after receiving an offer from "Man Utd" he changed his mind and moved to England, so Per Kroldrup was acquired instead. He became the second acquisition for the Florence team after the Chilean Luis Jimenez, who recently moved from the "Ternana" team.
Per Kroldrup himself did not hide his joy about returning to Italy: "When the opportunity to move to Fiorentina arose, I immediately took it. I wanted to return to Italy and never leave it again. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to show what I can do in England."
