The mid-table team of the Spanish championship acquired the 2004 European champion defender from Athens on Friday. The 30-year-old defender, who won the European Championship in Portugal in 2004 with the Greek national team, is the third purchase of "Mallorca" during the winter transfer window. Guided by Hector Cupero, the team has already acquired Portuguese defender Jose Carlos de Araujo Nunes and Argentine forward. This season, "Mallorca" is currently in 18th place in the 20-team Spanish championship.
