The goalkeeper of London Carlo Cudicini will stay in the English capital for a long time. The Italian agreed to sign a new one-year contract and will remain in the team until 2009.

The experienced 32-year-old football player is considered one of the most reliable goalkeepers in all of England, but due to the excellent form shown by the main "Chelsea" goalkeeper Petr Cech, he is often forced to sit on the bench. When the London team acquired P. Cech, C. Cudicini played only in 16 out of 90 team matches.

This season, C. Cudicini defended the "Chelsea" goal five times and helped achieve four victories. The only sensational defeat the London club suffered was in the "Carling" Cup, where they were eliminated.

The Italian joined the English team in 1999 from the "Castel Di Sangro" club for 160 thousand pounds.
