In the last Saturday's African Cup of Nations cup matches in Group B, the football players from the Democratic Republic of Congo confidently defeated the Togolese football players who will play in the World Cup this summer with a score of 2-0.

Togo 0 - 2 Congo DR
45` [0 - 1] Tresor Mputu
64` [0 - 2] Lomana LuaLua

The Congo DR football players, who looked better than their opponents in this match, took the lead deservedly at the end of the first half, when Tresor Mputu sent the ball into the net after a great pass from "Portsmouth" forward Lomana LuaLua.

In the second half, the Congo DR football players secured their victory with a great individual performance by captain L. LuaLua - the forward took the ball from the opponent, entered the penalty area, and beat the goalkeeper with a great shot, just barely touching the ball with his fingers. Although Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor, one of the best Togo players in the second half, threatened the opponent's goal several times, the Congo DR defenders made no mistakes and allowed their team to secure the win.

Togo's national team became the second national team, playing in the World Cup in Germany this summer, but losing in the African Cup of Nations matches. In the earlier matches in the same group, the Angolan football players had to admit the superiority of Cameroon with a score of 3-1.

After this loss, only a victory against Cameroon in the next matches would allow the Togolese football players to hope to reach the tournament's quarterfinals.
