Roma's goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi has confirmed that he will play for the club in the upcoming season.

The former Italian national team goalkeeper's contract was set to expire in June of this year, but now an agreement has been reached to extend his contract.

"We have reached a mutual agreement, and my career is not over yet. I still enjoy playing football, and I am not too old. We will see how the club progresses, but I want to stay here," Peruzzi told the club's official website.

The player, who turned 34 in the summer, started his career at the club in 1987. However, being very young at the time, he did not get to play and was loaned to Verona after two years. After a successful season there, Peruzzi caught the eye of Lazio. In his last club, he gradually earned a spot in the starting lineup and played a total of 9 seasons. In 1999, Peruzzi moved to Inter. After winning the Italian championship in one season, Lazio was looking for a new goalkeeper, and they paid a record-breaking fee for a goalkeeper at that time - 18 million euros.
