Supporters of the Swedish national team submitted a record number - 304,000 - requests to purchase tickets for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
The greatest Swedish interest was shown for their national team's Group B match against Paraguay on June 15 - 98,000 requests were made for tickets to this match.
Supporters also submitted 85,000 requests for Group B matches against England on June 20, and the first Swedish match in Group B against Trinidad and Tobago on June 10 received 63,000 ticket requests.
Only 4595 tickets were allocated to Sweden for the match against Trinidad and Tobago, 5099 for Paraguay, and 3047 for England. However, the Swedish Football Association stated that FIFA had promised to allocate additional tickets.
The lucky ones who receive tickets will be selected through a computerized draw.
Swedish supporters also submitted 57,000 requests to purchase tickets for later stages of the World Cup.
