At the Vilnius "Vėtra" camp, another newcomer has arrived - Latvian Olegs Boikovs, who came for a tryout and is already practicing with the team. The 21-year-old forward played last season for the Riga "Olimps" club. O. Boikovs also represents the Latvian youth (U-21) national team.
In the coming days, more foreign players will join the "Vėtra" camp. A Belarusian will arrive tomorrow, and two Czechs will arrive on Saturday. More foreign players will participate in the training camp in Cyprus, which will start on February 11. Only after the tryouts will the "Vėtra" coaches decide which players to sign contracts with.
Russian Konstantin Talancev, who has been training with "Vėtra" for the second week, has left a good impression on head coach Edgar Gess. "He is an interesting, fast-paced defender. His physical condition satisfies me, we just need to test him in battle with strong opponents. We will see how he integrates into the team and in the near future we will decide whether to sign a contract with him," said the "Vėtra" strategist.
Two Lithuanians are also participating in the "Vėtra" tryouts - defender Vidas Dančenko and forward Rolandas Karčemarskas. Whether contracts will be signed with them will be decided after friendly matches. A match against Borisov BATE is scheduled for February 1, and a match against Minsk "Darida" is scheduled for February 8. Both matches will take place at the "Sportima" arena in Vilnius.
