Democratic Republic of the Congo head coach Claude LeRoy stated that his team will not play in the quarter-final match against the hosts of the Africa Cup of Nations, the Egyptian football team, on Friday if the promised bonuses are not paid by then.

Each player of the DR Congo national team expects to receive 25,000 US dollars from the country's federation: 10,000 for reaching the Africa Cup of Nations and an additional 15,000 for reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament.

"If they are not paid, they will not play in the quarter-final match. Without any doubt," C. LeRoy spoke at the team hotel.

The players, known as "The Leopards," had initially planned to boycott the first group stage match against the Togo national team, which they later won 2-0, for the same reason.

However, the DR Congo players ended up playing in the match only because C. LeRoy personally contacted the country's president, Joseph Kabila, and he promised to resolve the issue.
