ergej Savchenkov, a specialist from Russia, has finally become the new head coach of Klaipeda's "Atlantas" after a long wait. The strategist arrived in the port city at the end of last week, and after finalizing the details of the contract over the weekend, he was scheduled to sign the agreement with the club on Monday.

50-year-old S. Savchenkov is best known for his career playing and coaching at the Voronezh "Fakel" club. Despite visa issues, the coach managed to arrive in Klaipeda just now, with a little over a month left until the start of the Lithuanian football season.

In the position of head coach, S. Savchenkov will replace the club president Vacys Lekevicius. Assisting the Russian in coaching the "Atlantas" team will be recently appointed forward Rimantas Zvingilas and goalkeeper coach Marius Poskus.
