After almost half a year break, Brazilian defender Edu returned to the team's training camp on Wednesday.
Edu, who has not played in any matches this season in the holding midfielder position, will be able to train at full capacity after three weeks, but it is still unclear when he will be able to return to the field.
The 27-year-old Brazilian, who represented his national team before the injury, joined Valencia last May when his contract with a London club ended, but in mid-August, just a week before the start of the season, he suffered a serious injury to his left knee cruciate ligaments.
Also injured in Valencia's squad were Spanish national team defender Vicente, Argentine national team defender Roberto Ayala, and Dutch national team forward Patrick Kluivert, but this did not prevent them from achieving a series of eleven consecutive matches without a loss in the Spanish championship.
This Sunday, at the "La Mestalla" stadium, Valencia will host Barcelona, the leaders of the Spanish championship.
