The agent of the young prodigy stated that there are "friendly conversations" going on with two English giants - London's Chelsea and Manchester United, but denies that there is already any agreement.
Last week, the BBC reported that representatives of London's Chelsea were watching Freddy Adu during his team DC United's match in the MLS championship in Washington.
On Sunday, Freddy Adu's agent Richard Motzkin, who was born in Ghana but holds US citizenship and represents the national team, confirmed that both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in his client. He added that both clubs have already held preliminary talks regarding the sixteen-year-old player.
Many European football giants are actively interested in the sixteen-year-old forward and midfielder, who made his debut for the US national team in January.
In order to acquire F. Adu, European clubs would need to reach agreements both with the player himself and with Major League Soccer, a sort of US football association.
