Serbian Serbas is currently one of the brightest stars. Celebrating his 25th birthday on April 12, he talked about his future.
uefa.com- How do you feel about "PSV" being eliminated from the UEFA Cup?
Kezman- I am very sorry that we did not reach the semi-finals. They made it because they are more experienced. But we are realists and we look to the future.
uefa.com- Why are you leaving "PSV"?
Kezman- Personally, I find it hard to find motivation in the Dutch league, because I have won everything there. Nobody is upset that I want to leave, and I have not heard any complaints from the fans.
uefa.com- What will you do next?
Kezman- So far I have been listening to my heart, but now I want to be an objective realist. My plans are - I want to move to a mid-table English Premier League team, spend 3 seasons there, score at least 10 goals per season, qualify for a European club tournament and then prove my worth by moving to a bigger club. I will be 28 then. These clubs have already told me - "Mateja, you are a good player, but you are not ready to play in the starting eleven." If I chase money after my contract expires, I would move to a bigger club where I would see more action in the transfer market than on the field.
uefa.com- You have been linked with "Newcastle" and "Birmingham". How much truth is in these rumors?
Kezman- Both teams fit the profile I mentioned earlier. "Newcastle" is a better team with Champions League ambitions, while "Birmingham" can qualify for the UEFA Cup next year. I have offers and "PSV" is reviewing them with my agents.
