"The leg of the star of London, Jose Antonio Reyes, did not break, it was just heavily bruised. The worst was expected after a very rough challenge by Bolton defender Abdoulaye Faye against the 22-year-old Spaniard during Saturday's match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

"I was lucky that it was just a bruise, it could have been much worse," said the Spanish national team player. "I am glad that nothing broke. My foot is sprained and very painful, but at least my ankle doesn't hurt."

J.A. Reyes is now racing against time, hoping to recover before the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match against Real Madrid, which will take place in the Spanish capital on February 21.

"I will do everything I can to be ready for the match against Real Madrid. I wouldn't miss it for anything," said J.A. Reyes."
