On Monday, the leaders of the Lithuanian Football Federation signed sponsorship agreements with two German companies - the sportswear manufacturing company "Saller" and the transportation services company UPS.
A four-year agreement worth over 1 million euros was signed with "Saller", according to which the company will provide sportswear and other football merchandise (over 130 different items) for 15 national teams - the national team, youth teams from U-12 to U-21, three women's football teams, and the beach football team.
"I'm glad that a serious company is coming for long-term cooperation with Lithuanian football. We want to emphasize that they are not just supporters of the national teams, but supporters of the entire country's football," said LFF President Liutauras Varanavičius. According to him and the representatives of the German companies, the majority of the support will go to children and youth.
"First of all, this is aid, not a business aspect. It comes from the heart," said the company's owner Richard Saller, known in his country for his charitable activities for children involved in sports.
"Saller" also supplies football gear to several German clubs, including the Bundesliga club Bielefeld "Arminia", the Saudi Arabian national team, and the Belgian team "Westerlo". The official supplier of LFF gear was the Danish company "Hummel" until now.
Meanwhile, UPS donated a minibus to the federation. "We are proud to be on the list of LFF sponsors. When I saw the atmosphere in Lithuanian pubs during football matches, I understood that I have to do something," said UPS director Peter Bienne, whose Lithuanian wife introduced him to Lithuanian football.
