Madrid announced on Monday that team defender Mariano Pernia will move to another team in the Spanish capital after the season.
"Pernia has signed a contract with Atletico," Spain's sports newspaper AS quoted Getafe president Angel Torres on Monday. "Everything was agreed twenty days ago, and the contract was formalized with the federation ten days ago. I had promised Pernia that he would play for a powerful team in the future."
Meanwhile, Atletico has not officially confirmed the transfer yet.
The 28-year-old Argentine arrived at Getafe in the summer from Recreativo de Huelva when the Madrid suburbs team reached the highest Spanish league for the first time in its history.
This season, M. Pernia, who will soon receive Spanish citizenship, is one of the leaders of the Madrid team.
