On Wednesday, two new legionnaires from Russia - forward German Lovchevas and defender Aleksandr Smirnov - arrived in Cyprus, where the "Vėtra" training camp is taking place, as announced on the website of the Vilnius club.
The 24-year-old German Lovchevas spent a significant part of his sports career at the prestigious Russian club "Spartak" in Moscow. In the main lineup of "Spartak," the forward played in fourteen matches, two of which were in the UEFA Champions League. Last season, G. Lovchevas played in the Russian first division for the Kursk team "Avangard."
The 23-year-old defender Aleksandr Smirnov represented the Moscow region team "Chimki" in the first division of Russia last season. Whether "Vėtra" will sign contracts with the legionnaires from Russia will be decided after the training camp in Cyprus.
Both Russians have already played in friendly matches with "Kharkiv," where the "Vėtra" footballers celebrated a victory with a score of 3-2. G. Lovchevas already scored a goal in his first match in "Vėtra's" ranks.
At the moment, there are 11 footballers in the "Vėtra" squad: 10 legionnaires, including three Russians, two Macedonians, and Cameroonians each, as well as one Serb, Romanian, Malviadian, and former defender from Lithuania Algis Jankauskas who played in Russia.
