Madrid defender Sergio Ramos spoke about the lack of team spirit in the Royal club after Sunday's 2-1 defeat to the starless "Mallorca" team.
The 19-year-old Spanish national team defender admitted that the lackluster reaction of his team mates when he put Real ahead in Mallorca reflected the spirit of the whole team.
"I scored a goal, but it seemed like it was done by "Mallorca"," Ramos told the Spanish radio station "Cadena Ser. - I realized that almost no one celebrated the goal."
"When you see how "Barcelona" or "Atletico" players celebrate goals, you can see their unity," the Spaniard continued. "That unity is very important, it makes the team stronger. I mentioned this to a few team mates, but I need to respect them. Maybe it's related to how much time each player spends on the field and on the bench, maybe it's related to the fight for a place in the main team lineup?"
Ramos' words came just a week after Real captain Raul publicly criticized the team's attacking leader, Brazilian Ronaldo, for attacking the Royal club's fans.
"I won't judge whether what he said was right or wrong," said Raul. "But it cast a dark cloud over the team before the Champions League match. He thinks he's more important than the team."
"Raul is responsible for his words, I am for mine," Ronaldo reacted to the captain's words after Sunday's defeat to "Mallorca". "The truth is that what he said only made the situation worse."
