One of the leaders of the Spanish national team, defender Vicente, is slowly preparing for a comeback to the big football.

The 24-year-old Spaniard suffered a right ankle injury during a match in "La Liga" with "Osasuna" in the middle of January and was sidelined for at least six weeks. It is worth mentioning that the player had to miss a large part of the previous season due to a similar left ankle injury.

However, now Vicente is recovering faster than expected and is already ahead of the predicted rehabilitation time by about a week. The club doctors speculate that the defender will be ready to return in early April, but advise the player not to take any risks and step onto the field only when he is 100% sure of his physical condition.

"Every day I feel better and better," Vicente said. "I am optimistic and really want to get back on the field in the first matches of April, but I will only do so when I am 100% confident about my form."

When asked if he hopes to represent his country in the upcoming World Cup in the summer, Vicente spoke very cautiously.

"If after the injury I play for Valencia until the end of the season and have no health issues, I hope that the coach will call me up to the team, but everything depends solely on him," Vicente said.
