29th round: "Metz" rises from last place © EuroFootball.com

During the weekend, there were matches of the 29th round of the French "Ligue 1" championship. The team that has been an absolute underdog for a long time but has been particularly successful recently, the "Metz" club, finally moved up from the last place on the tournament table. The "Metz" players at home after a fierce battle managed to defeat the struggling "Monaco" club 2-1. The Princes' team took the lead in the first half when Italian Marcas Di Vaio scored a goal, but in the second half, "Monaco" legionnaire from the Czech Republic Jeroslavas Plasilas sent the ball into his own net, and the winning goal for the "Metz" team was scored by Herve Tunas in the 80th minute. After this round, the "Ajaccio" club dropped to the last place on the tournament table, unable to resist the championship leader "Lyon" at home and losing 1-3. Another victory was achieved by the successful team lately, "Rennes", who crushed "Strasbourg" at home with a minimal difference of 2-1, goals scored by Kim Kallstrom and Jimmy Briandas. After this victory, "Rennes" moved up from 11th place to 9th. Paris "P.S.G" club lost two points at home, unable to defeat the "Marseille" team. The decision to send a second team to Paris was made by the management of the Marseille club after "P.S.G" failed to ensure the safety of their fans during these matches. Marseille's president also urged the team's fans not to waste their precious time and risk their health by going to Paris. The "Lille" club continues to hold the third place. This time, the Lille players did not leave any hopes at home for the "Le Mans" club, which suffered its second consecutive loss. After these matches, Lille's attack leader Jean Makoun hinted that England's "Manchester United" club is ready to buy him and should do so this summer. The leaders seem to be unable to keep up with "Auxerre" anymore. This time, Auxerre players managed to play a 1-1 draw away with the "Troyes" club. "Troyes" took the lead with a goal by Georges Ba in the 39th minute, but in the second half, the result was equalized by the Danish Thomas Kahlenberg, who has been showing great form lately.
