Vilnius is further strengthening for the upcoming season. On Wednesday, the ambitious capital club shook hands with two Lithuanians who have tasted legionnaire bread - 32-year-old defender Vidu Dančenko and 25-year-old forward Rolandas Karčemarskas. Both players will represent "Vėtra" for at least two seasons.
Starting his career at Mažeikiai's "Romar" club, Vidu Dančenko has won the Lithuanian championship three times - once with "Romar" and twice representing Šiauliai's "Kareda". With this team, Dančenko also won the Lithuanian Cup twice. Later, the defender played abroad: in Estonia with Tallinn's "Flora" and in Russian clubs - Elista's "Uralan" and Nizhny Novgorod's "Lokomotiv".
Vidu Dančenko played 4 matches and scored 1 goal in the Lithuanian national team. He has also worn the jersey of the Lithuanian Olympic team.
Meanwhile, starting his career at Vilnius' "Žalgiris", Rolandas Karčemarskas, who became Lithuanian champion in 1999, has also played for the Lithuanian Olympic team. Later, the forward went abroad, where he spent a significant part of his career at South Korea's "SK Bucheon" club.
