Russia's national team captain Alexei Smertin is returning to his homeland - the player who represented a London club on loan this season was bought by Moscow.
At the age of 30, the defender moved to the London team in August 2003 from Bordeaux, but was immediately loaned to Portsmouth. Last year, the player won the Premier League with Chelsea, but did not establish himself in the team and was loaned to Charlton this season.
However, the former Lokomotiv player and Russian national team member was invited by Dynamo coach Yuri Semin, and after reaching an agreement with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, Smertin signed a four-year contract with Dynamo.
Smertin has become another player to join Dynamo in the off-season, with goalkeeper Sergei Ovchinnikov and defenders Dmitry Khokhlov and Igor Semshov already joining the team.
