On Saturday, two games of the 29th round took place in the Italian championship - victories by a narrow margin were celebrated by the teams playing at home, Milan's "Inter" and "Siena".

At home, Milan's "Inter" club defeated the "Sampdoria" team with a score of 1-0. The victory for "Inter" was brought by Adriano's accurate shot. Before this goal, the Brazilian had not scored in 849 minutes of play.

At the beginning of the match, the guests had the first opportunity to score. "Inter" defender Nicolas Burdisso slipped, allowing the "Sampdoria" players to launch a dangerous attack, but Francesco Flachi's shot hit the goalpost. The Genoa club continued to aggressively attack and earned five corner kicks in the first 11 minutes. During one of them, a dangerous shot by Cristiano Zenoni flew just centimeters over the crossbar.

However, "Inter" gradually improved. Initially, shots on goal were taken by Luis Figo and Pierre Wome, and during a corner kick, Adriano's headed ball bounced off the goalpost.

But the guests also failed to score, and at the other end of the field, "Inter" goalkeeper Francesco Toldo had to demonstrate his abilities by saving a very dangerous shot from "Sampdoria" defender Sergio Volpi. After a few minutes, another chance was had by the guests' striker Francesco Flachi, but his shot was blocked by "Inter" legionnaire from Cameroon, Pierre Wome.

Despite the active attack of the Genoa club, "Inter" broke through. The club's midfielder Luis Figo sent the ball into the penalty area, where Adriano again headed the ball towards goal. The ball, touched by the goalkeeper, hit the crossbar, but Adriano was the first to reach it and no one could stop another header from him.

In the second half, the hosts played much better. At the start of the half, the "Inter" team had a decent chance to score. Adriano was about to reach the ball but the player and the guest's goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli both rushed towards it and the Brazilian was the first to the ball. He pushed the ball further and tried to jump over the lying goalkeeper, but he lost his balance and fell. The referee, thinking that Adriano was trying to simulate a foul, showed a yellow card to the Brazilian.

After a few minutes, another unbelievable chance to double the lead was missed by another Milan club striker, Alvaro Recoba. After a great shot by Adriano, which was saved by the "Sampdoria" goalkeeper, A. Recoba got the ball and somehow managed to miss the empty net.

Before the end of the match, Adriano, who seemed to have regained great form, had several more shots on goal, but he couldn't score again and the match ended with a score of 1-0.

In other matches where two teams fought for survival in the strongest Italian league, "Siena" managed to beat the "Treviso" team at home at the end of the match. The victory for the hosts was decided by Erjon Bogdani's goal in the 87th minute.
