Today in the morning the Lithuanian national football team departed for Minsk, where tomorrow at 19:00 they will play their second friendly match of the year, this time against the Belarus national team. Let's remind that in the first match, Lithuanians also played away against the Israeli team and lost 2-1.

Today the Lithuanian youth team (U-21) will test their strength in Smorgon against their peers from Belarus.

The national team coach A. Liubinskas mentioned that Belarus will play with their strongest lineup. Meanwhile, due to childhood illnesses, G. Stauch and T. Zvirgzdauskas will not be able to help our team, other players will not arrive for various reasons. The coach also mentioned that the team will play a combination football, and the defense should help the attack. It has already been confirmed that 18 footballers will represent the national team:

Overall, Lithuanians have met with Belarusians six times. Only once victory was celebrated. It happened during the Soviet era at the Moscow Spartakiad in 1979 when Lithuanians won 2-0. After regaining independence, three draws were achieved: 1-1 in 1992, 1-1 in 1995, and 2-2 in 1996. Then followed a crushing defeat in Minsk 5-0 (1998), and an equally embarrassing loss in Vilnius in the same year 0-3. However, the Lithuanian lineup does not look weak at all, and we can hope for a favorable result. We wish the national team a cohesive game and, of course, victory.

By the way, we would like to mention that if you don't have the opportunity to watch the match on TV, you can follow the live commentary on EuroFootball.com portal.
