n Tuesday, the last Champions League round of 16 matches were played, in which Milan's "Inter" defeated Amsterdam's "Ajax" club at home with a score of 1-0 and advanced to the next stage with an overall score of 3-2, where they will face the team of "Villarreal."

"Inter," which due to disqualification played the last four home matches in the Champions League in an empty stadium, was finally able to play at "San Siro" in front of spectators.

The match started with a dangerous shot from Luis Figo, but the ball flew over the goal. Dejan Stankovic and Adriano also failed to hit the target. In the ninth minute of the match, Adriano tried to shoot the ball towards the goal through himself, but instead, it ended up as a pass to Luis Figo, whose shot also flew over the goal.

In the twelfth minute, "Inter" had a great opportunity, when Obafemi Martins' powerful shot hit the crossbar. Fifteen minutes later, "Inter" had an even better chance to take the lead - a penalty kick was awarded to the guests' goal after a handball by an "Ajax" defender, but Adriano's shot missed wide of the mark.

After a few minutes, "Ajax" players demanded a penalty kick for a handball by "Inter" defender Marco Materazzi, but the referee's whistle remained silent as the Italian accidentally touched the ball after a ricochet.

The second half started with another long-range shot from L. Figo, but once again the ball did not hit the target. However, in the 57th minute of the match, "Inter" finally broke through. D.Stankovic deceived the opponents' defender and his excellent shot pierced the "Ajax" goal.

In the 82nd minute, "Inter" goalkeeper Francesco Toldo had to work for the first time, but he easily caught the "Ajax" shot on goal. Just before the end of the match, Adriano failed to capitalize on another great chance, when a superb pass from Esteban Cambiasso led him one-on-one against the goalkeeper.

The score remained unchanged, so the match ended with a narrow victory for "Inter" - allowing the Milan club to proceed to the quarterfinals, where these teams will face the team currently occupying the seventh position in the Spanish championship.
