n Saturday and Sunday, the 26th round matches took place in the German football championship. Both Bundesliga leaders "Bayern" and "Hamburger" secured victories, and the gap between these teams remained unchanged at eight rounds until the end of the championship - "Bayern" still leads the port city club by six points.

"Bavarians" managed to defeat "Schalke" in the second half on Sunday in their home stadium and secured a very important victory. H. Salihamidzic scored the first goal for "Bayern" immediately after half-time. Soon after, "Bayern" striker R. Makaay appeared on the field and, after two minutes, the Dutchman contributed to the second goal, scored by C. Pizarro.

R. Makaay, mentioned earlier, scored a point in this match. He took advantage of a mistake by "Schalke" defender M. Krstajic in the 89th minute and scored the third goal of the competition. With this victory, "Bayern" interrupted their unsuccessful streak - before this match, the Munich team had suffered two losses in their last three matches. Meanwhile, this was the first defeat in the second round of the championship for the "Schalke" team.

The "Hamburger" club also secured an equally important victory, defeating the "Wolfsburg" team with a minimal result in their away match. The only goal of the match was scored by the "Hamburger" striker B. Lauthas, who has scored a goal for the third consecutive match. Things did not go well for "Wolfsburg" attacker M. Hanke - the German national team player suffered an injury at the beginning of the match and was forced to leave the field.

After a bitter defeat, the champions league team "Werder" still cannot recover. In this round, they continued their series of defeats and lost 1-3 to the "Nurnberg" team on their opponent's field. The leader of the "Nurnberg" attacks, R. Vittek, continued his excellent form, scoring two goals and extending his streak of successful matches - the Slovak scored eight goals in the last three matches.

The game of the entire "Nurnberg" team also improved - halfway through the second round, the team had already collected more points than in the entire first half of the season. This was the third consecutive victory for "Nurnberg", after which the team jumped to eleventh place, increasing the gap from the relegation zone to six points.

After a series of victories, the "Kaiserslautern" team returned to a losing streak, this time conceding a 1-2 lead to "Borussia" in their away match and suffering their second consecutive defeat.

Due to the defeat of the "Duisburg" club, "Kaiserslautern" managed to maintain their sixteenth position, while "Borussia" rose to seventh and intensified the fight for a place in the UEFA Cup competition - currently, there is only a four-point difference between fifth and tenth place.
