The Finnish national team and forward Mikael Forssell, who is currently on loan to Birmingham club, will stay at this club for another year. This player arrived at the club from London and has already scored 17 goals in 30 season matches.
Although in recent weeks Mikael Forssell has not been in the best form, extending his contract with Birmingham club is a big win for this team.
23-year-old M. Forssell said: "I am proud to play for Chelsea club, but I extended my contract with Birmingham because in this club I get more playing time than in London. And by playing more, I improve and become a better player."
Finland was called to the big European football by London's Chelsea. In 1998 he came to England from the "HJK" club. He was then loaned to Crystal Palace, and in 2002-03 went to Germany to represent. There he scored 12 goals and returned to London after the season ended.
