On Sunday, in the last quarterfinal match of the LFF Cup at the Vilnius "Sportima" arena, last year's "A Lyga" bronze medalist Marijampolė's "Sūduva" faced the absolute underdog of the championship, the former Kėdainiai "Nevėžis", and showed their overwhelming dominance by winning with a six-goal lead.

The scoring of "Sūduva" began in the 18th minute of the match with a goal from Tomas Miklinevičius, and towards the end of the first half, another new team member of the team Artūras Fomenka doubled the score. Immediately after the break, the onslaught of "Nevėžis" was started by another goal from A. Fomenka, followed shortly by Andrius Urbšys and Senegalese Christian Sagna.

In the 78th minute, Marius Bezykornovas scored a consolation goal for the Kėdainiai club, but "Sūduva" continued their attacks and restored their five-goal advantage with Giedrius Slavickas, and with four minutes left until the end of the match, Christian Sagna scored the final goal - "Sūduva" crushed their opponents and practically secured a spot in the semifinals.

Asked on the official website of "A Lyga" whether he expected such an easy victory, "Sūduva" head coach Algimantas Gabrys replied: "I never think about an easy victory. And this time, I didn't expect to win by such a result. However, I couldn't say that the "Sūduva" players played very well. The coach always sees the flaws."

As already announced, on Saturday, victory was only achieved by Klaipėda's "Atlantas", which unexpectedly defeated the "Kaunas" team, while the other two quarterfinal first leg matches ended in a draw. The second leg matches of the reply cup quarterfinals are scheduled for April 12.
