During the weekend, nine matches were played in the English "Premier" League. After them, the fight for the first place intensified, as the London team "Chelsea", which has been leading the entire season, but recently demonstrating not as powerful game as before, lost another two points.

This time Jose Mourinho's team failed to beat the underdog "Birmingham" club away. The match ended in a 0-0 draw. The guests, who looked particularly sluggish in the first half, only recovered in the second half and had several good opportunities to score a goal, but they failed to capitalize on them and had to settle for a draw, adding some intrigue to the fight for the champions' rings.

Meanwhile, the pursuers of the closest team in the English capital did not scatter points - "Man Utd" defeated "Bolton" 2-1 in a tough match, and the team in third place for some time now, "Liverpool", with ease won 2-0 against the "West Bromwich" club.

After these matches, "Man Utd", with six games left to play, reduced the gap from the leaders to 7 points. It is interesting that these teams still have an important match against each other. Meanwhile, "Liverpool" is behind the Manchester team by 5 points and has played one more match, so there are not many chances left for Rafael Benitez's team to climb higher.

The team in excellent sporting form, "Arsenal", won a significant victory, defeating "Aston Villa" 5-0 at their home ground "Highbury" without major problems. One of the best forwards in the world, Thierry Henry, who scored two goals for the winners, equaled Ruud van Nistelrooy in the list of snipers, who also scored a goal in this round.

Surprisingly, the "Tottenham" team stumbled, continuing the fight for a place in the European cup competitions next season. This time Martin Jol's team lost 3-1 to the skillful "Newcastle" team in an away match, which is currently only in 12th place in the league table.
