The Lithuanian champion "Panevezys" team is determined to maintain the title of the best team this year. According to the club's general director Tomas Sitnikovas, the team is made up of truly strong and professional football players, who not only play for the "Ekrano" team, but also for the Lithuanian national team.
At today's press conference, the Panevezys city football team presented the new season. The club's general director Tomas Sitnikovas and "Adidas" representative Raimondas Arlauskas signed a cooperation agreement unprecedented in Lithuania. "Adidas" will not only outfit the Lithuanian champion "Ekranas" players, but also become the official club partner.
After signing the agreement, T. Sitnikovas said: "We are pleased that the internationally renowned company "Adidas" chose "Ekranas" as their face in Lithuania. This once again confirms that the team is working steadily and purposefully."
"Adidas" representative R. Arlauskas hopes that this cooperation will turn into a long-term partnership. New jerseys were handed to "Ekranas" captain Mantas Savenas. The team will wear them during the first matches of the "A League" championship.
In the new season, "Ekranas" not only signed a significant agreement, but also has a new logo. The rejuvenated club management and administration came up with the idea to change the logo, which was outdated not only in terms of design. The 12-year-old team emblem has been replaced with a modern, more visible, brighter logo, while retaining the traditional team colors - red and blue. The chairman of the board Mindaugas Juozatis stated that they did not want to change the name yet, as it has made the club popular, achieved significant victories in Lithuania, and performed well abroad.
"Ekranas" head coach Virginijus Liubsys expressed satisfaction with the changes. He believes that they will only benefit the team. "In recent months, I noticed that the men are full of determination and ready for victories. The new players have particularly strengthened the team's attack, defense, and safety lines. Both new and old team members realize that defending the champion's title will not be easy, so they have seriously started working from the beginning of the season," the coach said.
Team captain Mantas Savenas confirmed that the "Ekranas" players are preparing for the season very seriously. "The team is friendly, newcomers quickly got involved in both the game and the team's life." The best Lithuanian player invited all fans to attend football matches and promised impressive victories on behalf of the team.
One of the team's newcomers, Moldovan Sergejus Pogrebanas, is delighted to join the Lithuanian champions. "I think, both I and the other foreigners will contribute to the realization of the team's great plans." He is convinced that the team is truly capable and will defend its title.
The return match of the LFF Cup between "Ekranas" and Vilnius "Vetra" will take place on Sunday at 15:00 at the Panevezys Aukstaitija Stadium, and the opening of the new season will take place on April 15 at 15:00, one hour before the first "A League" championship match of "Ekranas" against the "Siauliai" team. The opening will also feature the presentation of the new season's song, performed by a famous Lithuanian band.
