In terms of performance, both Lithuanian players competing in the Serie B league in Italy scored goals on Saturday, but their teams had different fortunes - one helped secure a crucial victory away from home, while the other team only scored a consolation goal and was then sent off the field.

In the battle for survival, "Avellino" clashed with mid-table team "Pescara" away from home, and in the 36th minute defender Viktoras Boudianski put his team ahead, with T.Danilevičius doubling the lead in the 49th minute of the second half after an assist from the wing.

For the Lithuanian national team forward, this was his 15th goal of the season, and with six games remaining until the end of the championship, he equaled the club's all-time top scorer, the Belarusian Vitalijus Kutuzov. "Avellino" won and climbed to the 18th position in the standings, overtaking the "Albinoleffe" team, who surprisingly drew with the third-placed "Cesena" away.

After suffering a loss to "Torino", "Brescia" coached by Zdenek Zeman missed a great opportunity to climb to the fifth position, losing away to "Piacenza" after conceding three goals in the first half. The only goal for the visitors came in the 82nd minute from Lithuanian player Marius Stankevičius, but his day was ruined shortly after when he received a red card.

"Atalanta" secured the top spot in the league, taking advantage of second-placed "Catania" drawing with "Rimini" and winning against "Cremonese" to increase their lead over the closest pursuers to five points.
