On Sunday, Eindhoven defended the title of the champions of the Netherlands until the end of the championship with two rounds left.

"PSV" played a 1-1 draw at home with "Groningen" club, but that was enough for them to secure the champions title until the end of the championship with two rounds left.

After the match, "PSV" coach Guus Hiddink, who will leave the Eindhoven team after the season, was in a great mood: "This is an amazing championship, as no one, except ourselves, considered us contenders for the champions title. My team played excellently this year, I feel a great respect for them."

In second place, Alkmaar's "AZ" footballers lost 0-1 to Amsterdam's "Ajax" as guests, falling ten points behind "PSV" who have 80 points.

The teams occupying second through fifth places will have to play additional matches after the season to determine which teams will earn a spot in the third round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and two spots in the UEFA Europa League tournament.
