The Barcelona footballers defending the title of champions continue to score points. In the 32nd round match, the Catalan superclub played 2-2 against Racing club in Santander on Sunday.
In the match held in Santander, the guests took the lead in the 18th minute when Swedish player Henrik Larsson scored after a precise pass from Mark van Bommel into the penalty area. The hosts responded to this goal shortly after when Antonito stopped the ball excellently in the penalty area after a pass from Oscar Serrano from the left flank and turned around to send it into Victor Valdes' goal.
Shortly after, Oscar Serrano himself put the hosts ahead when he stopped the ball in the penalty area between two defenders and defeated V. Valdes after receiving a long pass. Although after ten minutes the result was equalized by the most productive player in the Spanish championship, Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o, the champions failed to do anything more against the actively defending Racing footballers. "Barcelona" captain Carles Puyol also received a red card in extra time and will have to miss the next match. It is worth mentioning that this was the third consecutive draw for Barcelona in the Spanish championship.
In extra time, Sevilla players who will not lose hope of playing in the UEFA Champions League next year managed to equalize with "Zaragoza". However, the distance to Osasuna players in fourth place increased to six points as they defeated Alaves 2-1 on Sunday.
The last match of the 32nd round between Villarreal and Deportivo ended in a 1-1 draw. In a close match, Deportivo took the lead in the middle of the second half when defender Sergio scored a goal from outside the penalty area. However, Villarreal responded to this after three minutes when Guillermo Franco directed a corner kick headed by Marcos Senna into the goal. Despite having several chances to snatch victory until the end of the match, Villarreal failed to change the result.
