Madrid striker Ronaldo will not play for up to three weeks after sustaining a right thigh muscle injury in Saturday's match against Real Sociedad.
The Brazilian national team striker scored his 100th goal in Saturday's match, but suffered an injury in the second half and left the field.
Ronaldo, who has been plagued by injuries throughout the season, had recently seemed to be regaining form, scoring as many goals in the last four matches.
Ronaldo is the top scorer for Real, with 14 goals. His injury will be a serious loss for the Royal club in the battle for second place in the Spanish championship, which guarantees a spot in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
